I did not come to this work through a course or a certification. I came to this through 15 years of working inside complex systems, public policy, energy transition, EU-funded programmes, community development across countries and cultures.
Over the years, work took me to 27 countries, with a particular focus on island communities, and that breadth of exposure taught me how differently people think, lead and relate depending on where they come from. And through five years as a public figure, an activist who did not just advocate for change but achieved it, shifting policies, institutions and the way decisions were made at a systemic level.
From the outside, I was doing well. On the inside, I was constantly on, carrying more than I could name, and increasingly unsure of who I was beyond what I achieved.
In 2022 I stepped back from public life. In 2023 I moved to another country, away from the society that had shaped me, to build that answer from the ground up.
That process did not break me. It clarified me.
For most of my adult life I operated from what I now understand as masculine energy. Driven, strategic, armoured, always pushing. I knew how to fight for a position in rooms that were not built for me. I was good at it.
What I did not know was how to take that armour off without feeling like I was losing something.
What I discovered is that softening is not weakness. That integrating what has been left behind, whether that is emotion, vulnerability, intuition or simply rest, does not diminish power. It deepens it.
About Maja Jurišić
This is work I do with both women and men. Because we all carry armour we were never taught to put down. And men in particular rarely have the space or the support to even begin.
That discovery is now at the heart of how I work.
Fifteen years inside organisations, governments and communities taught me one thing above all: most professional problems are personal problems in disguise. I have sat in boardrooms and crisis meetings, led teams through conflict and change, and watched capable, intelligent people get stuck. Not because they lacked strategy, but because they could not see their own blind spots.
It is pattern recognition built over decades.
I understand systems. I understand management. I understand personal trauma, fear and the stories we build around both. And most importantly, I know how to move through them.
My approach combines deep awareness work with structure. We work through four dimensions: body, emotions, mind and your relationship with yourself, using a model of Awareness, Acceptance and Choice. We track progress. We set real, measurable goals. We celebrate small wins.
I keep a record with every client so you can look back in one month, three months, a year and see exactly how far you have come.
What I bring to this work
This work is not for everyone.
If you are looking for someone to validate your current story, I am not your person.
If you want gentle encouragement without honest reflection, there are other guides for that.
Working with me means showing up.
It means being willing to look at what you have been avoiding.
It means no excuses, no comfortable narratives that keep you stuck, and no pretending.
What you get in return is structure, support, honest guidance and a partner who has done this work herself and knows what it actually takes.
If that speaks to you, I would love to meet you.
